The BC Chamber of Commerce Wins International Visionary Award for BCMindReader.com

Provincial Business Association takes top spot in “B2B Relationships” Category

Vancouver BC, July 15, 2019 – The BC Chamber has been named a 2019 Visionary Award winner by Vision Critical, a global customer insights firm. These awards—given to 11 organizations from across the globe each year—showcase brands that demonstrate excellence in using insights to improve their organization’s performance and efficacy. The BC Chamber is in good company with this award. A few of the 11 international companies in the winners’ circle include Twitter, Conde Nast, Toyota, and The Pittsburg Pirates baseball franchise.

The BC Chamber of Commerce created BCMindReader.com to provide government with faster and more representative insights about BC business and the BC economy. With the 1500+ businesses represented in BCMindReader.com, the BC Chamber can gather and splice business data from every size, sector, and region of BC’s economy, and instantly share that information with all levels of government.

“It’s the natural, digital evolution of the Chamber’s core organizational purpose — to Know What’s on BC’s Mind,” says BC Chamber CEO Val Litwin.

With this access, the chamber also identified new partnership opportunities with government, media and the private sectors, that continue to increase their profile as a business leader across BC. One of the goals of the platform is to gather faster, deeper insights on the BC business landscape.

“Other sources of insight from business yield a very small response, usually fewer than 100 voices. With BCMindReader.com and through the power of our regional chamber network, 600+ people typically weigh in on issues, so government and media are more likely to listen. The chamber typically sees a 25% response rate and we conducted an average of two studies per month in 2018,” Litwin says.

“Customer advocacy focuses on customers’ interests and supports their wants, needs, and input. Our Visionary Award winners strive to introduce the voice of the customer into every facet of their business,” said Kelly Hall, Chief Customer Officer at Vision Critical.

In 2018-2019, the BC Chamber and its network of local chambers used BCMindReader.com to drive its policy and advocacy efforts by sharing data with government decision makers, and to drive high-profile media coverage for issues impacting BC’s business community.
