China Southern Airlines to Participate in BC Chamber Summit 2012

April 18, 2012 – Vancouver BC – China Southern Airlines has agreed to join a panel discussion on BC’s air corridors to the Asia Pacific at the upcoming BC Chamber of Commerce Transportation Summit. The event takes place on Monday June 4th and Tuesday June 5th at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.  China Southern will join a panel with representatives from Canada’s major airlines and Tourism Vancouver. YVR is a major sponsor of this conference.

“China Southern is expanding its international routes to BC and will play a growing role in movement of people and goods through Vancouver”, says BC Chamber President John Winter. “It will be exciting to hear about the growing potential of the Asian air market and what this means to BC business and tourism”.

The Transportation Summit is fully supported by the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.  The Honourable Blair Lekstrom will open the conference on the Tuesday morning.

Conference panels will be presented under the headings of “BC takes Flight”, “Shipping Jobs for BC” and “BC’s Land links”.   The BC Chamber will also use this summit as an opportunity to release an important province-wide survey on transportation issues at the Monday night opening dinner.
