Of the one million job openings expected by 2022 in B.C., more than 78% of jobs will require some form of post-secondary education, and 44% of jobs will be in skilled trades and technical occupations.
The Government of British Columbia launched B.C.'s Skills for Jobs Blueprint in April 2014 to align training and education with in-demand jobs.
Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson spoke about how the Blueprint is helping provide a seamless plan that takes British Columbians from high school through post-secondary education and right into the workforce. Highlighting how post-secondary institutions are supporting British Columbian students get the education and skills needed for the growing economy.
