Announce Launch of Thirdquarter Pilot

PENTICTON, BC - Lorraine Renyard, Manager of the Penticton and Wine Country Chambers of Commerce, and Bonnie Dancey, Manager of the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce, announced the launch of a two-year partnership in support of the ThirdQuarter pilot project.
This partnership will help connect ThirdQuarter South Okanagan residents over 50 years to job and volunteer opportunities in their community. Firms and volunteer organizations will have an online resource where they can post job opportunities and be connected to those ThirdQuarter individuals with the required skills and abilities.
Jim King and Michou Szabo, the South Okanagan Community Coordinators, will led efforts within the South Okanagan Region to make individuals, businesses and organizations aware of the pilot project. Jim King introduced the project's Web site, www.thirdquarter.ca, which will provide the means for individuals and businesses to register and profile their skills and jobs, and provide job matches.
"The ThirdQuarter project was created because we want to connect the experience of our Thirdquarter workers to needs of business in our region," said Jim and he added, " for our local economy to grow and us to prosper we need those ThirdQuarters to remain active."
