Affordable Housing
Tackling B.C.'s affordable housing crisis - particularly in the Lower Mainland - is critical to the attraction and retention of businesses and talent in the region.
In 2016, the BC Chamber’s province-wide membership recently passed three policies targeted at affordable housing:
- a policy calling for a study of citizenship and residency data on all real estate in B.C.;
- a policy calling for various approaches to increase housing supply; and
- a policy calling for government to incentivize the creation of affordable rental housing.
