- Hansen highlights economy on the mend – Finance Minister Colin Hansen outlined 10 indicators that BC is on the road to economic recovery. The Conference Board of Canada forecasts that this year B.C. will be one of the provincial leaders in economic growth at 3.8 per cent.

- Tolko bags lumber deals with China – Tolko Industries signed two major lumber deals with China
National Building Materials, the country’s main lumber distributor to China’s construction industries. Read more - New West Partnership opens trade office in Shanghai – Premiers Campbell, Stelmach (Alberta) and Wall (Saskatchewan) launched a joint Western Canada Trade and investment Office in Shanghai promoting Western Canada to Chinese investors. The joint mission is the first since the three provinces formally signed the New West Partnership on April 30. Read more

MacDiarmid launched a review into the functioning of the B.C. College of Teachers following
complaints of influence from the BC Teachers Federation. Read more - Vancouver Pavilion opens in Shanghai - Canadian expertise in wood construction is on display with the opening of the Vancouver Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010. The Government of Canada has invested $2.5 million in the construction of the Vancouver Pavilion, one of six offshore
demonstration projects that promote the use of Canadian wood in construction. Read more
