#TradeTalks hosts SME's, government officials and Consuls General to talk export

The BC Chamber hosted over 140 Delegates at its inaugural #TradeTalks Forum at the Vancouver Convention Centre on June 29th.

We were pleased to welcome keynote speakers Honourable Ed Fast, Canada’s longest serving Minister of International Trade and MP for Abbotsford, as well as Pamela Goldsmith-Jones, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade.

Consuls General from 8 key trading nations were also present at #TradeTalks, three of whom participated in the panel, “7.5B People – The Possibilities Beyond our Borders”. Those panelists were LIU Fei, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China (the longest serving diplomat in Vancouver and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps), Jean-Christophe Fleury, Consul General of France, and Lynne Platt, Consul General of the United States.

#TradeTalks was proud to host a ‘Global Marketplace Trade Show’ where Consulates of key trading nations, such as Indonesia and South Korea, and organizations who support entrepreneurs in exporting, such as Futurpreneur, the Women’s Enterprise Centre and Export Navigator, offered businesses valuable insight into exporting. Some of the businesses in attendance are Pranin Organic, Gillespie's Fine Spirits, Santevia Water Systems Inc. and Seven Seas Trading Inc.

#TradeTalks also featured the welcomed addition of young entrepreneurs to our Delegates roster, in partnership with the Young Entrepreneur Leadership Launchpad (Y.E.L.L). Three of these inspiring business leaders presented their business export plans to the delight of the #TradeTalks delegation, one of whom is featured in the BCBusiness June Issue
